Skate and Create

At first it sounds like a new fragrance by Axe body spray, but 'Tashkeel' is actually a breath of fresh air. The Dubai based design team, whose name is taken from the arabic word for art, have executed the first skateable art structure, and done so by interpreting sculpture in a way that mimics skateboarders approach to their concrete surroundings. It was important for the structure to have a strong arabic influence, which was ingeniously incorporated by having the design of the ramp be based on large scale 3-D characters of the language. Now situated in the garden of an art gallery, the Tashkeel ramp is a stunning integration of design, art, culture and what looks to be one hell of a time. Potential Roundwall Road Trip?
